ANARDE’S LEGAL AID DEPARTMENT FILED COURT CASES REPORT:

The following is a summary of court cases filed by Anarde’s legal aid project; a. Constitutional Petition Number 40 of 2012; Asumani Irumba & Peter Magellan Versus Attorney General and Uganda National Roads Authority; where constitutional Court declared Section 7(1) of the Land Acquisition Act unconstitutional and contrally to article 26 of the 1995, Constitution of the Republic of Uganda. 

The petition was heard by a full bench of the Constitutional Court of Uganda holden at Kampala.Uganda National Roads Authority being dissatisfied with the decision of the Constitutional Court filed Supreme Court Constitutional Appeal No.02 of 2014; Uganda National Roads Authority Versus Asumani Irumba & Peter Magellan; and the appeal was heard on the 16th day of June, 2015 at 09:30AM. 

The appeal is pending judgment which shall be delivered on notice.
